2012 APCO Australasia Conference

With the rising frequency and magnitude of natural disasters throughout the Asia-Pacific region and around the world, the 2012 APCO Australasia Conference and Exhibition 'The Future of Public Safety Communications: What does it look like?' will appropriately focus on pertinent topics such as communications and technology, emergency management, communities, multi-agency collaboration and information sharing, how to utilise social media, recent events, lessons learnt and preparedness and continuity of our people, systems and resources.
The event will be APCO Australasia's ninth annual conference, which continues to grow and adapt and is considered to be the leading public safety and emergency management event for the emergency service, government and security sectors.
We are expecting in excess of 850 attendees on the Gold Coast, which will include a cross section of members and representatives from emergency service organisations, local state and federal government and security agencies, from high level management to volunteers. In times of crises it is not only our emergency responders that are called on, we recognise that many industries have an important role to play, such as utility providers, transport, mining, defence and finance.
The event will be held over three days and incorporates valuable networking events, professional development workshops, interactive forums and discussion groups, speaker presentations and an extensive and trusted exhibition showcasing the latest technology, equipment and services available to the public safety sector.
APCO Australasia events are attended by key representatives from government policy makers, public safety managers, officers, users and volunteers, supporting industry representatives, manufacturers and suppliers to researchers, consultants and academics.
