Commercial Two-Way Radio
In Australia, the following frequencies are reserved for commercial use:
• In the VHF band, frequencies between 148MHz and 174MHz
• In the UHF band, frequencies 400MHz - 420MHz and 450MHz - 520MHz
To use any of the channels within these frequency ranges you will need to have a license to do so. Anyone using a frequency without a license is breaking the law and could face prosecution. There is a fee for obtaining a license to use a frequency (or range of frequencies) in the Commercial Band, but once you have that license you effectively have a private radio channel. You can apply for an annual license in Australia through the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).……

If your need for a commercial frequency channel is for a shorter period than one year, you might find it more cost effective to rent one of Commex’s commercial channels. We offer simplex channels (direct communication between radios) or duplex (communication via our repeater network). Contact us to find out more.
